Great hawker centre with good selection of food, the chicken rice is famous and lives up to its fame with thanks to Anthony Bourdain’s good review!Closes early on weekends - a number of shops are closed in the evening. Besides the chicken rice, the satay was just okay.Atmosphere was pretty quiet as well.

All Local dishes where the local will eats. If the local loves it, it can't go wrong. The hawker center is a bit run down but the food serves inside is just awesome!
Always nice to visit this hawker centre, very authentic local food place I recommend for all visitors. A lot of stalls serving good, affordable local food. Tried the Rojak, Satay, Muah Chee, BBQ Chicken Wings and Prawn Noodles… all were perfect! Will always come here when am around the area👍🏻Parking: A lot of open space parking around the hawker centre, and there is a multi storey Carpark next to it too.
Went to try the peranakan vegetarian restaurant. Very tasty and nice home cook food. Not too oily pretty good on taste and flavor. Must try for vegetarian wanting to try something different. Good job by the chef to cook such local dishes using local ingredients. Will try again instead of take away dine in probably better.
This is the place to go for local food - there are so many stalls it’s hard to pick which ones to try first. Quality is generally good due to the high level of competition. Market has been around for a long time - the rojak is very good and the Nasi lemak stall was very popular. There are also some unique and specialized stall like Nonya Chendol, and there are 3 Hokkien mee stalls along the same row. Can be a little stifling in the day. Accessible via MRT.

Also recognized as Beach Road Army Market, this iconic hawker centre is home to some of the most delectable dishes on the island. From the enduring Teochew braised duck recipe of Ah Xiao (#B1-43) and the aromatic claypot rice served by the famously stern Yew Chuan (#01-73) to the young entrepreneurs flipping burgers at Ashes Burnit , these stalls have the allure to attract crowds. While waiting is undoubtedly worthwhile, for those seeking to avoid queues or feeling a bit adventurous, we’ve uncovered — and sampled — some lesser-known gems and emerging stars that are equally deserving of your attention.
OMG so wide a variety of local hawker food! The crowd is ok on a Saturday night and the prices are still ok. 2 floors of food stalls which oddly includes a burger stall. I had pasta but the favourites are definitely the local dishes, including a clay pot rice stall that seems really popular. Will go back again to enjoy other foods

There are many excellent food choices here like satay beehoon, slice fish soup, fried carrot cakes, satay, pork porridge and many more. The prices are affordable and the portions are good. There are many parking options as well but the nearest carport is small and hard to get. Recommend to park at the nearby HDB housing estate's carpark instead.
It is a 2 storey wet-market and a bit cramp but many good food to choose from morning till night, definitely you can find your choice of food there. I'm always there for breakfast and wet-marketing during weekend. Parking maybe a problem on busy weekend morning, probably need to wait a while or park at further HDB multi-story carpark

Amoy Street Food Centre, nestled amidst the bustling skyscrapers of Singapore’s central business district (CBD), stands as an unassuming gastronomic haven, offering a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary fare. Beyond being a foodie’s paradise, this food centre holds historical significance dating back to the post-war era. In the 1950s, the locale, then known as Amoy Street Food Centre, thrived as a street-food hub with itinerant hawkers. However, during the 1970s, Singapore’s government aimed to regulate and enhance the sanitary conditions of the hawker scene, leading to the establishment of this food centre in 1983
Amoy Street food centre are about 30 over years old. It located inside CBD and many officers around so is very crowded during lunch time. Local foods are food and price are cheap. Recent years many stalls are recognised by Michelin. In the evening many stalls closes. So go there at 1030am or 2pm is the best.
Good place for local food fare in downtown Singapore . Plenty of stalls selling a wide variety of local delights to choose from . Can be very crowded during lunch time peak hours . I ordered the yuan yang fried carrot cake , price is very affordable like all other hawker centres. Nearest train station is Tanjong pagar mrt station

Situated in Farrer Park, Pek Kio Market & Food Centre may not top the charts in terms of popularity, owing to its slight inaccessibility. Nevertheless, boasting nearly four decades of existence, it stands as an offbeat and under-the-radar food center harboring its fair share of hidden culinary treasures. From Michelin-approved chee cheong fun and prawn noodles to wanton mee, pancake, and Hokkien mee, Pek Kio Market & Food Centre offers a diverse array of delectable options waiting to be discovered.
Awesome selection of local Singaporean hawker food. Favorites include the famous fish head soup and wah kee prawn mee. Be sure to turn up early to avoid disappointment for the fish head soup as it sells out very quickly. For the prawn mee, approach with politeness and queue behind the red line on the floor to avoid being grouched at.
A number of interesting local food in this hidden hawker centre as it is not in a big housing estate and the MRT station is not so near. However, there are 3 char tau kway (fried white radish cake) stalls here and you can try all 3 to see which you prefer. Also featuring a freshly made chee cheong fun (steamed rice rolls) with scallops, char siew or prawns
An old wet market and hawker centre with quite a good selection of local food available. Namely Braised duck Kweh Chap, Fry Hokkien Mee, Prawn Noodles, Roasted Pork and Char Siew, freshly made Chee Cheong Fan, Wanton Noodles etc etc., and the prices are very affordable as compared to other coffee shops (2 coffee shops) nearby.
Overall you can get majority of local food in one hawker. I love to bring my foreign friends here because they can taste most of the local food. The indian stall is under rated and I think they are better than most of the famous indian stall in Singapore. Should I disclosed this 🙂 I don’t wish they get popular and price hike.

Nice old hawker center in the central area. Two stories and surrounded with roads. They have all kinds of local food at an affordable prices. I order turtle soup and it taste super, the herb soup is well brew and the meat is soft and yummy. I also had some dessert like bobo chacha and changdo. All tasted very good. A great place for food lovers.
Turtle soup and pig's trotter jelly are favourites. Curry chicken noodles was good and surprisingly very fragrant. Also not forgetting the oyster fritters. Expect to queue but you will not regret the effort. Check it out on your own as there are many choices in this food centre. Authentic local food!
This food centre is two levels of wonderful variety of local food. Top level is mostly for adventurous people as there are loads of Chinese exotic food items here. Example of food types are turtle soup and even crocodile dishes. There is also mutton soup on both levels of this centre. The lower level has a stall with traditional popiah, which is Chinese spring rolls. There is also a special chilli Yong Tau Foo, which has been around for the longest time.
Chinatown Complex Market and Food Centre

Several original Chinatown hawkers, including 115 Tang Shui, Heng Ji Chicken Rice, and Hill Street Fried Kway Teow, still operate in the center. While some may lack the same long heritage, they share a commitment to preparing dishes in the traditional way.
If you want to try local food, this is the place to goThe atmosphere is usually vibrant but it's not always too clean. The food prices are affordable and the taste is authentic. It's still always worth a visit, and to support local hawker stalls, even if finding a seat might be difficult at peak periods.
Authentic local food, with no frills though the selection of food and drink is good with prices being inexpensive. There is quite a famous Michelin star rated bbq and rice hawker hidden within this gem and it has a monstrous queue to accompany it (though the service was very efficient) - it was tasty and the price was too good to be true in terms of value.

The popularity of this idea led to the addition of more shelters within months of its opening. By 1930, it evolved into a day and night market. The offerings predominantly feature local and mainland Chinese fare, making People’s Park Food Centre a diverse and bustling hub of culinary delights.
One of the places to visit in Chinatown for local food. There are so many stalls to choose for affordable food. With Covid-19 pandemic hitting Singapore shores, hygiene is one thing that is a positive to this place. The tables are cleaned more often. Do watch out for birds as they can take a nip at your food when you leave your food on the table to get drinks.
